Discovering The Red Sea Crossing
Through Google Earth
By: James Banfield
We Know God, right? I mean, I am born-again and I know Jesus. But yesterday was a marvelous journey in getting to know My God a little better. How's that you say? ...
Every once in a while, the Lord will reveal to His Archaeologists things that will lead to a discovery that will prove to the naysayers that the scriptures are true and the incidents described in the bible are real. Yesterday, I received in the mail a neat message about what it would have taken to feed and support the nation of Israel while in the desert for just one day, let alone 40 years! It was an incredible amount of food and water not to mention the length of a train to bring it all to the people each day! It was enough to realize that the Lord is quite capable of doing anything HE needs to do to accomplish His Plan.
Our Friend, BJ and I were discussing that message when I got this brainy idea of checking Google Earth and see if I could see the "Land bridge" where they crossed over. Google here we come. Of course, Several Archaeologists have already discovered this, so it's not new by any means, but It is exhilerating and a feeling of "discovery" and excitement will definitely come over you.

I will do this in steps so that, if you want to do it yourself and "discover" how great our God is, you can follow these steps. Here goes.....
Excerpts from Exodus 14:
2Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.
7And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.
8And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.
9But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.
12Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. (They had a sense of hopelessness because they were surrounded by sea, by mountains, and by the army of Pharaoh)
13And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
14The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
15And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:
16But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
19And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:
20And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.
21And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
22And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
23And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
24And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,
25And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.
26And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.
These scriptures show the predicament the Hebews were in. But when you see where they were physically you will really appreciate their concern about being boxed in and no hope.

1. Google ... Red Sea Crossing ... What comes up is what was really cool ... Red Sea Crossing Chariot Wheels discovered! Click on this .... or you can just click on this hyperlink ... Red Sea Crossing

2. Red Sea Crossing found by Ron Wyatt .. Chariot Wheels discovered ...in reading this article that comes up it tells of finding stones with Hebrew inscriptions on them, more discoveries, and underwater photos of chariot wheels from the time of the Hebrew Exodus ... cool pictures ...
3. Further in the article it tells of where the Chariot Wheels were discovered, in the Gulf of Aquaba. Read on .... its goes on to show Ron Wyatt's suggested course of the Hebrew Exodus leading to the Gulf of Aquaba. Wierd how the course was not a straight line, when you go to Google Earth you will see why... and understand ...
4. Just below the diagram of the Exodus route is a photo ... you cannot tell from the photo just how big the "beach" is but it does tell where it is ... a place called Wadi Watir .. with these two clues .. its time to go to Google Earth ... a Worldwide map that can target anyplace in the world ... something I have grown to love in checking out places of interest. Note: Before you go to Google Earth look at the next picture just below the Exodus route ... That is the pass that leads to the "beach". remember it, and how you can see that it is the only way in and out of that beach.
5. Google Earth ... load it up and type in the window Wadi Watir, Egypt Gulf of Aquaba ( if you don't have google earth uploaded on your computer you might want to do so for it is a valuable program that answers a lot of your questions about places on earth – make a shortcut for it ... )
6. It will go to Wadi Watir and show the settlement there
7. On the upper right of the screen you will see an outline of two cirle things then a little man, then a verticle bar with a plus sign and a - sign on the bottom. Put your mouse on the - sign at the bottom and zoom out into space until the meter at the bottom right reads " eye alt 20km"
8. There are two little blue squares on the East side of the Gulf of Aquaba ... click on them.. you will see that they are the pictures taken of the Red Sea Crossing Site! .. Now, click on the little blue square in the water just to the left of the shore ... It is the remains of an upside down chariot ... click on the one to the left of that ... Chariot Wheels! now to the left almost to the other shore to the west is another blue square picture... More chariot Wheels!
9. Now, while the screen is at the 20km height click on "Tools" in the bar on the upper left. then click on "Ruler" .. as you move your mouse around you will see that it is not an arrow but a box. Line up the "box with the target lines in it on oneside of the shore just above where the picture of the Chariot Wheel was and click your mouse ... a green dot will appear ... let go of the button and slide your mouse to the other shore being careful to stay above the pictures of the Chariot Wheels. ... When you reach the other shore. Click your mouse and another dot will appear to anchor the line that you have drawn. Now there is a window that shows measurements ... feet, yards, miles etc.. click on the miles measurement ... How long was the line that you just drew? 11 miles!
10. Now go to the "Beach" and while the height is still at 20km do the same thing with the "beach". And draw a line from the top of the "Beach" to the Bottom of the beach. How long is it? ... 6.5 miles! ... how wide is it from the mouth of the pass to the shore? ... 2.6miles! ... This Beach is big enough to hold 2 million Hebrews for sure!
11. Just below where it says “Hotel Swisscare Nuweiba Resort” is a picture box ... click on that picture ... There is Nuweiba showing the size of it and the pass in the middle as the only exit and entrance to the "Beach".
12. Imagine a super big cloud or a Pillar of Fire blocking the Pharaoh's Army in the mouth of that pass holding back the army. NO way can the army penetrate that defense, they were stopped in their tracks.
13. What was it that the Pharaoh's army saw? Go back to the page with the pictures of the chariot wheels, the path of the Exodus and that picture of the pass from within the pass.. Red Sea Crossing Click on the picture to enlarge it ... WOW! ... now you can see the view that the Pharaoh's army had ... There was no way to get around that Pillar of Fire and the Cloud that blocked their way to attack the Hebrews ... and there was no way that the Hebrews could escape for they were blocked by those very same mountains, Army and Sea... What a predicament.
How big is our God?
A) He didn't open the waters a mere 1/2 mile or even a mile ... He opened up the waters to create an 11 mile dry land bridge!!! Now that's an awesome miracle!..
B) He held back the Army at will with a Pillar of Fire and a Cloud at the mouth of the pass all night long, to hold back the army, also an awesome miracle!
C) He allowed 2 million Hebrews to cross over that 11 mile land bridge to save every last one of them and then had Moses lift up his staff to close the waters upon the army that were chasing the Hebrews. Another Awesome Miracle and Timing!
D) He, our Lord, left no doubt as to where the Red Sea Crossing was, for he preserved artifacts that would substantiate the find and the route of the Exodus, the land bridge, the position of the army, the Hebrews plight, and their escape. This was no meer feat in anybody's book and to confirm the route through the sea? ... He left the remnants of the altar that proclaimed the crossing site as being directly inline with the Chariot Wheels validation through the artifacts on the bottom of Gulf of Aquaba!
So How Big is Our God?
After seeing this scripture come alive before my very eyes, through Google Earth and the scriptures, I can say without doubt that MY GOD is AWESOME! ...
2 Chronicles 7:14 ... "If My People who are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, Then, shall I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land."
Know that the Lord still acknowledges this scripture and sticks to it. Guaranteed, if you do those 4 things before him, HE is obligated to hear us, forgive us, and heal our land, our country, our states, our cities and our bodiess and our spiritual being.
Wow,
What a mighty God We Serve!
Blessings to you all,
James Banfield
