The Prophecy of the Virgin Birth
Isaiah and the Lord
SCENE 4:
ISAIAH KNEELING BEFORE GOD
INT. – EARLY EVENING LATE AFTERNOON
There is a bench table and a candle in the center of the room. It is not lit. The Room is of the times (736AD)
ISAIAH:
Dressed in outer garments of the times, Isaiah is Jewish, balding, in his mid-40's (His ministry was from 744BC-699BC,
which was over 45 years. So he had to be at least 45 years old at the time of this prophecy) Kneeling in prayer, the voice of God speaks to Isaiah, in a still tiny voice... The voice is the character that plays Jesus.
THE VOICE OF GOD:
"Go forth now to meet Ahaz, you and Shear-Jashub your son, at the end of "the Conduit of the Upper Pool in the highway of the Fuller's Field."
SCENE 4 (CONTINUED)
ISAIAH:
Still on his knees, shifts a bit, because at 45, it’s a bit uncomfortable on your knees.
THE VOICE OF GOD:
"And say to him, 'Take heed, and be quiet …"
God's tiny voice fades away ...
End of Scene 4
SCENE 5:
THE MEETING WITH AHAZ
EXT. – EARLY EVENING - DUSK
Isaiah and his son Shear-Jashub are walking together towards 'the Conduit of the Upper Pool' As they near the pool, Isaiah sees the King with his guard, watering his horses, which are still hooked to the chariot. King Ahaz sees Isaiah and his son nearing and so the King gave the reins to the guard and walks towards Isaiah and His Son.
THE KING:
"Isaiah, Prophet of God, What brings you out here? Are you lost? For this is not the way to your home."
ISAIAH:
"O, King of Judea, I have been sent here by the Lord God, to give to you a message ... He said to come to the Conduit of the Upper Pool and you would be here"
THE KING:
"Yes, It seems that HE knows where I am before I get there, (Acting a bit putout) 'So speak on'"
SCENE 5 (CONTINUED)
ISAIAH:
"Take heed, and be quiet, fear not, neither be faint hearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Resin with Syria and of the son of Remaliah. Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against you, saying 'let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the Son of Tabeal: ... Thus saith the Lord God, it shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass ... for the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin. And within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken that it be not a people ... and the Head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Ramaliah's son. If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established."
KING AHAZ:
Stands there and is seriously pondering what was spoken from the prophet Isaiah. He is clearly, in deep thought when Isaiah speaks again ...
ISAIAH:
"Ask you a sign of the Lord Thy God” ... (suggesting that the king should ask the Lord if this be true?)
THE KING:
Looking at Isaiah and then to Shear-Jashub as if to say to both of them, "Are you nuts?" And then says ...
"I will not ask ... Neither will I tempt the Lord"
SCENE 5 (CONTINUED)
ISAIAH:
(Isaiah seizes the moment and steps one step closer to the king) ...
"Hear you now O House of David ... Is it a small thing for you to weary men? But will you weary my God also? ... Therefore, the Lord himself shall give you a sign ... Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Butter and honey shall he eat, that HE may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, for before the child shall know to refuse evil, and choose the good, the land that you abhors shall be forsaken of both her kings..."
THE KING:
As Isaiah and his son turn to walk away, the King turns to his chariot and just before he steps up on the chariot, he turns back to look at Isaiah and mumbled …
"Syria will fall to Assyria?" ... and begins to chuckle to himself ...
Smiling and shaking his head in the negative,
and mounts up on the chariot and drives off...
