The Word From Galilee
an Original Full Length Movie Script
of the Lord Jesus Christ as per “The Integrated Four Gospels”
Introduction:
I was recuperating from major surgery and I was watching TBN and one of those Jesus movies. Sitting in my chair the movie was just about to end when non-chatlantly I spoke to the Lord and said, “Lord, when are they ever going to produce a movie about you that is scripturally correct?” It seems that every Jesus movie I have seen has had things in the movie that never happened. Things that happened but not even close to the way they portrayed the scene. Even in some, there was dialogue that was spoken to a couple of children when in fact it was spoken and answered to by the Priests and Scribes. It was really disturbing to see how mangled they portrayed The Ministry of Christ and the true meaning of the Word and the lessons HE was trying to convey to the people both present and future.
So As I sat there in my chair in a 10'x40' trailer, I heard the voice of the Lord say to me, “Write It”. And then in a instant I saw in an image on the wall of my trailer, (3) 24” x 36” grided velium sheets of paper and on them were columns that had “time frames” on them.
Immediately I knew that HE indeed wanted me to write the movie. Easy? Yeah right ... Not. It took 18 months of reading the Gospels, charting them out in “Time Frame” order, then match the espisodes to each other to see what really happened in each of the incidents. I worked on it at least 5 hours if not more each day. It was a dedicated project and I thought it would never be finished, there was so much. Some of the scenes were so far off, .....
Such as ... did you know that The Episode of the Centurion and Jesus, they were never face to face in that whole episode! The Centurion sent first the Synagogue Priests then as they neared the home of the Centurion he sent a couple of his friends to Jesus ... with a Note! Amazing! Another was The Healing of the man who was lowered down through the roof of Jesus' house. What was so beautiful was the determination of the four men to get him up on the roof and lower him in to Jesus. That was determination and faith. And The Lord showed me the episode and that the Lord recognized that determination and Faith in not only the man, but his friends (& brother too)
On every scene, I would pray to the Lord, “How did this scene really occur?” and would read the scriptures that pertained to the scene. Then I would write the scene as it looked to me. Then afterwards I would reread the scene paying particular attention to the scriptures to make sure it was per the scriptures. Finally, I would type it into the script.
One last thing. I did was something a little different. When folks watch a movie, they wonder, did that really happen that way? They naturally do. So what I did was a little something extra we all learned with some tv shows. Down on the lower left I would put : Scripture verse and time the incident happened. So that in any case, any question ... you could stop the movie and check that scripture out.
To give you an idea of how the movie is scripted I have chosen four scenes in the movie to demonstrate how it was done. And to describe a few scenes that are usually portrayed differently.
Yours in Christ,
James Banfield
